President Trump Approves Major Disaster Declaration for Spring Flooding in North Dakota
BISMARCK — Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer and Representative Kelly Armstrong issued the following statement today on President Donald J. Trump approving Governor Doug Burgum’s request for a major disaster declaration for spring flooding in North Dakota:
“We appreciate the Trump Administration fulfilling Governor Burgum’s request for a major disaster declaration. Spring flooding is one of many obstacles North Dakotans are facing beyond their control, but we know they can successfully overcome it with the proper tools and right resources. We now urge the appropriate federal agencies to work with the State and local governments to ensure the assistance is properly implemented.”
The North Dakota congressional delegation urged President Trump to accept the Governor’s request in May.
