Hoeven Announces CARES Act Funding to Standing Rock Transit System
BISMARCK, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs and a member of the Senate Transportation, Housing and Urban DevelopmentAppropriations Committee, today announced that the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) has awarded $436,520 to Standing Rock Public Transit. Today’s funding was made available through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act and will support the Standing Rock Public Tribal Transit Program as it continues operating and providing service to the surrounding communities during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
“This funding supports access to transportation services for residents of Standing Rock and the surrounding areas, while helping to cover increased costs resulting from the ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency,” said Hoeven.
