Hoeven Statement on the Death of Sen. Daniel Inouye

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven and his wife Mikey extended their condolences today to the family, friends and constituents of U.S. Senator Daniel Inouye, who died today.

“Sen. Inouye was a kind and decent man who dedicated his life to serving our country. As a young man, he first served our nation during World War II, earning numerous distinctions for his valor, including the Medal of Honor. He subsequently went on to lead an equally distinguished career in Congress, earning a reputation for his hard work, character and unwavering commitment to the people of Hawaii. Throughout his career, Sen. Inouye stood as an American hero, embodying the very best of our nation. Mikey and I are saddened by his loss, and our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, family and the people of Hawaii.”
