Hoeven Statement on the Tragic Deaths In Newtown, CT Today

BISMARCK, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven and his wife Mikey today issued the following statement in response to the tragic deaths in Newtown, Conn., today:

“Like parents across America today, Mikey and I are grieving the tragic loss of life in Newtown, Connecticut. The loss of a child is tragic enough, but the loss of a child in the awful circumstances that surrounded today’s shootings is unimaginable.

“I know I speak on behalf of the people of North Dakota when I say tonight, our thoughts and prayers go out to the parents, grandparents, siblings and loved ones of all the innocent children, teachers and administrators who lost their lives today at the hands of a gunman whose motives remain unknown, but whose acts are unquestionably evil. We pray that in the days, weeks and years ahead the families of these victims find some measure of peace.”
