USGS Meeting

Senator Hoeven will host a meeting with representatives from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and North Dakota energy leaders on USGS’ updated estimate for oil and gas resources in the Williston Basin.

The senator will host Walter Guidroz, the Energy Resource Program Lead for USGS, with Lynn Helms, Director of the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources, Ed Murphy, the North Dakota State Geologist, John Harju, Vice President for Strategic Partnerships at the University of North Dakota’s (UND) Energy and Environmental Research Center (EERC), Kathy Neset, President of Neset Consulting, and Ron Ness, President of the North Dakota Petroleum Council. In 2017, the senator secured the commitment from USGS to conduct this study.
