UAS Meeting and Flight Demonstration

Senator Hoeven will meet with Elbit Systems executives at Hillsboro Airport to highlight the importance of beyond-line-of-sight operations for testing and advancing UAS technologies in the state and pitch North Dakota as an ideal location for the company to expand operations. Hoeven and the executives will also explore new applications for large-scale UAS for precision agriculture and infrastructure damage assessment. The event will be capped by a flight demonstration of Elbit’s Hermes 450, a line of UAS being flown out of Hillsboro as part of a research grant provided by the state to North Dakota State University and the Northern Plains UAS Test Site.
