South Bismarck Flood Protection Meeting
BISMARCK, N.D – On Friday, August 23, Senator John Hoeven will hold a meeting with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) officials and leaders from the Bismarck region to discuss efforts advancing the $122 million South Bismarck Flood Control Project and a future wastewater project at the University of Mary. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Hoeven has been working to fund the projects and keep them moving forward, having secured a $50 million federal grant for the Bismarck flood project. This is particularly important, as new flood protection measures are needed to address risks from flooding, remove structures from the floodplain and lower costs for local homeowners.
