Hoeven to Unveil His Legislation to Combat Opioid Epidemic at Law Enforcement Roundtable in Mandan

Senator Hoeven will unveil bipartisan legislation he authored and introduced to keep harmful and addictive synthetic drugs from being sold in the United States, The Illegal Synthetic Drug Safety Act of 2016, during a roundtable with law enforcement and High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) officials.

Senator Hoeven will also discuss the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act of 2016 (CARA), which became law on July 13, 2016. The legislation expands prevention and educational efforts to prevent the abuse of methamphetamines, opioids and heroin, and to promote treatment and recovery.
