On Thursday, September 9, Senator John Hoeven will join leaders from the Dakota Gasification Company and Basin Electric Power Cooperative in announcing a new carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) project in development at the Great Plains Synfuels Plant in Beulah. The event will begin with a media availability, where Hoeven and company officials will review the proposed project, which will be part of the largest coal-based carbon capture project in the world, and outline the senator’s efforts to make CCUS projects like this more commercially-viable. Immediately following, the group will tour the site, including the compressor area and well pad. Interested media should RSVP to alex_finken@hoeven.senate.gov.
