2nd Street Floodwall Ribbon Cutting in Fargo
November 22 2016 01:30 aaa
Senator Hoeven will join Fargo leaders in dedicating the city’s new floodwall, which is the first completed potion of the region’s flood protection project. The $40 million project includes a floodwall and road realignments and received federal, state and local funding. It allows greater river flows through the city, up the 35 feet or 17 feet above flood stage, and removes the need for temporary clay levees along 2nd Street while substantially reducing the need for upstream staging during major flood events.
