Saturday, Hoeven will travel to Dickinson to attend the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association Annual Meeting which is on the last day of the association’s 85th annual Convention and Trade Show. The meeting will focus on the increased number of cattle in North Dakota, record cattle prices and regulations like the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposed Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule. Hoeven pressed U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack in July to eliminate WOTUS because of the rule’s possible detrimental effects on farmers and ranchers.
