Hoeven: USDA Approves Loan, Grants to Support Rural Development in Cass and Grant Counties
WASHINGTON — Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee and Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development has awarded a grant of $1,338,000 to the City of Arthur in Cass County and a grant of $30,000 to the City of Elgin in Grant County. Rural Development also approved a loan of $1,687,000 to the City of Arthur.
“One of the most important ways we can support development in the rural parts of our state is to invest in infrastructure that will allow communities to grow and thrive,” Hoeven said. “Today’s USDA funds will do just that. The funds awarded to the City of Arthur will go towards the removal and replacement of water and sewer mains, and Elgin’s grant will be used for assessing the city’s infrastructure needs and develop a preliminary engineering report for a proposed wastewater project.”
