Hoeven Congratulates Minot Airport On Opening of New Terminal
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today congratulated all those who have been working on Minot International Airport’s new terminal on the first day of flights from the facility.
“The expansion of the Minot Airport is an investment that will not only support the growth North Dakota has already enjoyed, but also the growth that will come in the future,” Hoeven said. “I extend my appreciation to all the talented people who have been working to create the new terminal, as well as the larger airport improvement project.”
The $75.6 million airport project includes a new terminal building, apron, snow removal building and parking lot. Hoeven worked to secure nearly $32 million dollars in federal Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding for the project and also worked with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Administrator Michael Huerta to ensure the project had the funding necessary to reach completion. In September, Hoeven visited Minot International Airport with city leaders to review progress on the new terminal building and other important construction projects at the airport.
