Hoeven to Again Serve as Chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs, Agriculture Appropriations Committees
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today released the following statement after he was selected to again serve as Chairman of both the Senate Indian Affairs Committee and the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee. In the 116th Congress, Hoeven is continuing to serve on the following Senate committees: Appropriations; Energy and Natural Resources; Agriculture; and Indian Affairs.
“I look forward to advancing North Dakota’s priorities through my continued work on these important committees. As chairman of the Agriculture Appropriations Committee, and a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, I look forward to continuing our work to provide farmers and ranchers in North Dakota and across the nation with the tools they need to succeed and overcome the challenges facing rural America.
“Additionally, it is a privilege to work on behalf of Indian Country as a member of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs and a distinct honor to be re-elected to serve as Chairman of the Committee for the 116th Congress. I will continue to advance the priorities of empowering tribal economic development as well as improving public safety, health care and education in tribal communities. I look forward to again working with Vice Chairman Senator Tom Udall (D-NM) to ensure we have another productive Congress on behalf of Indian Country.”
