Hoeven Public Events Schedule for the Week of August 21
BISMARCK, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven is holding events throughout North Dakota in August while the U.S. Congress is in recess. Some events are scheduled and others are still being planned. Advisories will be issued as additional events are scheduled. Hoeven’s agenda for public events for the week of Aug. 21 is as follows:
Tuesday, August 23
Hoeven invites North Dakotans to participate in a business climate update and town hall at the Nodak Electric Building in Grand Forks. Hoeven will provide an overview of his work in Congress to promote pro-business legislation, create jobs and a healthy economy, and then open the floor for questions from constituents. Following the town hall, Senator Hoeven will join the Greater Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce for a roundtable discussion.

On Tuesday evening, Hoeven will meet with North Dakota’s industry and business leaders and local and state officials at the North Dakota Chamber of Commerce’s Congressional Policy Summit at the Microsoft Campus in Fargo. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to register at www.ndchamber.com.

Hoeven, family and staff will participate in clean-up efforts in Minot, his family’s hometown. Later, he and Senator Kent Conrad will meet with Minot Mayor Curt Zimbelman and other officials to review the area’s use of temporary housing.

Hoeven will provide an overview of his work in Congress to promote pending foreign trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama, and create trade opportunities for North Dakota, and then open the floor for discussion with constituents.
