Hoeven: HHS Awards Funding to Three Entities in North Dakota
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs and a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded funding to three North Dakota entities:
- NATIVE Community Development, Inc. – $297,000 from the Social and Economic Development program to support cultural services in the Bismarck community.
- Sitting Bull College – $270,908 from the Native Languages Esther Martinez Initiative to support teaching the Lakota language.
- Northern Lights Youth Services, Inc. – $120,133 from the Family and Youth Services Bureau to support Operation Access and provide educational services to youth, helping to promote healthy decision making.
