Hoeven Announces Rural Development Loans Awarded to Two ND Electric Cooperatives
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), through the Office of Rural Development, has awarded loans to two North Dakota electric co-ops:
- Cass County Electric Cooperative – $45,000,000 loan to build and improve 785 miles of line to benefit more than 8,300 consumers.
- Central Power Electric Cooperative – $23,997,000 loan to support improvements to the transmission system to benefit more than 67,300 consumers in the service area.
“These USDA loans will help Cass County Electric Cooperative and Central Power Electric Cooperative invest in updates and improvements to ensure they can continue providing reliable and affordable services to consumers across North Dakota,” said Hoeven.
