Hoeven Announces More Than $9.5 Million in Funding From FEMA to North Dakota
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded more than $9.5 million in funding to North Dakota to support homeland security efforts. Details are as follows:
- $4,287,500 from the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) will be used to support efforts to prevent, prepare for, protect against and respond to acts of terrorism.
- $3,151,693 from the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) Program will be used to assist state and local emergency management agencies regarding preparedness.
- $1,642,646 from the Operation Stonegarden Program (OSGP) to enhance coordination among state, local and tribal agencies. Counties to receive funding include:

- Burke – $105,000
- Cavalier – $139,698
- Divide – $136,459
- Grand Forks – $135,000
- McHenry – $90,031
- McLean – $97,500
- Pierce – $80,310
- Pembina – $140,000
- Renville – $110,000
- Rolette – $130,000
- Towner – $96,702
- Walsh – $100,000
- Ward – $80,000
- Wells – $66,428
- $464,369 from the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) to better integrate preparedness activities among public and private agencies.
- Northview Church – $100,000
- St. Alexius Medical Center – $100,000
- St. Aloisius Medical Center – $100,000
- Christian Unity Hospital Corporation – $85,000
- Hope Evangelical Covenant Church – $47,574
- Linton Hospital – $31,795
“These grants will support preparedness efforts across the state and ensure communities are secure and ready to prevent and respond to natural or other disasters,” said Hoeven.
