Hoeven Announces $440K Grant to Circle of Nations School to Prepare Native Youth for College, Careers
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations and Indian Affairs Committees, today announced that the U.S. Department of Education, in partnership with the Department of Interior, has awarded $440,217 to the Circle of Nations School in Wahpeton through the Native Youth Community Project. The funds will promote college and career readiness for Native youth in grades four through eight by promoting school engagement and commitment to learning through academic, social, heath and other programs.
“Education is a primary pillar of our children’s future,” Hoeven said. “It is vital that children start learning from an early age the skills, knowledge and mindset they need to lead fulfilling and successful lives. Today’s grant will help do just that for the students at Circle of Nations School.”
