Hoeven Announces $435,000 HHS Research Grant to NDSU
WASHINGTON — Senator John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded North Dakota State University (NDSU) a $435,000 academic research grant. The grant will help with the study of heart and vascular diseases.
“We are proud that North Dakota continues to play an important role in research,” Hoeven said. “This HHS grant to NDSU will continue to fund world-class research and will help Americans live longer, better lives.”
Today’s HHS grant is the most recent of several research grants NDSU has received recently. Last week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded NDSU more than $160,000 in agriculture research grants, and the National Science Foundation awarded nearly $150,000 in funding evolutionary ecology research at NDSU. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States.
