Hoeven Announces $100,000 EDA Investment in University Center at NDSU's Research and Technology Park
FARGO, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven today announced that the Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded a $100,000 investment to the University Center Economic Development Program at North Dakota State University’s (NDSU) Research and Technology Park. The EDA investment will fund the second year of a five-year program, which provides university resources and technical assistance to support entrepreneurs from Fargo and the surrounding communities as they capitalize on economic development opportunities resulting from applied research.
“The investment by the EDA will continue to fund NDSU’s innovative program that helps North Dakotans continue to build our already strong and growing economy,” Hoeven said.
The EDA’s University Center program establishes partnerships between the EDA and academic institutions on a competitive basis in order to leverage university resources for regional economic development. As a member of the Senate Appropriations committee, Senator Hoeven has worked to secure funds through annual funding bills that support economic growth, innovation and entrepreneurship.
