Senator Hoeven NDSU Bison Football 2019 FCS Champions Floor Speech

The North Dakota State University (NDSU) Bison football team won another FCS national championship this year, bringing their total haul to a record 7 championships in only 8 years. I introduced a resolution with Senator Kevin Cramer to recognize the Bison’s unprecedented achievements and the Senate passed it by unanimous consent. Representative Kelly Armstrong also honored the team by giving a congratulatory speech on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. Throughout their extraordinary run, NDSU’s players, coaches and staff have demonstrated remarkable determination, resilience and skill. We also recognize Bison Nation which has played an important role in NDSU’s continued excellence by providing vibrant support at home games and even on the road. The Bison’s title was a victory not only for the NDSU football team, but for the entire State of North Dakota.
