Senator John Hoeven 2018 Independence Day Statement

BISMARCK, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement in commemoration of our nation’s independence:

“Today, we celebrate our nation’s history and heritage and are reminded how our founders and ancestors strove to realize a more perfect and free nation where all could enjoy ‘Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.’ Our freedoms are not free, they have been secured thanks to the sacrifices of many. We are forever indebted to those who have given their lives on behalf of our nation, as well as our veterans and the men and women who serve now to protect our way of life. We express to them our deepest thanks. From Mikey, me and our family, we wish all North Dakotans a happy and safe Independence Day.”
