Hoeven Welcomes Summer Interns to Washington, State Offices

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today announced five North Dakota students are interning with his Washington, D.C., Bismarck and Fargo offices this summer. The interns are working with the senator and his staff on legislative, communication and administrative projects.

“We are once again glad to welcome some of North Dakota’s finest young adults to work as congressional interns in my Washington, D.C. and state offices,” said Hoeven. “These outstanding individuals represent North Dakota’s youth as well as our future leadership. As always, we are proud to provide them with the opportunity to experience firsthand the legislative process and the inner workings of our nation’s government as we serve the people of North Dakota. We hope this internship experience will establish lifelong connections and a deeper appreciation for the value of public service.”

Alexis Dosch, Anne Nathe and Navy Thompson are currently interning in Hoeven’s Washington, D.C. office.

Alexis Dosch, a Bismarck native, graduated from St. Mary’s Central High School in 2012. Alexis spent her freshman year at North Dakota State University (NDSU) before transferring to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix where she will begin her junior year this fall. She is studying business management. Alexis hopes her internship experience will further expand her knowledge of the legislative process and is grateful to take part in that process on the larger scale in Washington.

Anne Nathe will begin her junior year at Dickinson State University in the fall where she is studying elementary education. Though she is attending school in Dickinson, Anne currently lives in Bismarck, where she grew up. After graduating she hopes to teach in the Bismarck school system.

Grand Forks native Navy Thompson graduated from Red River High School in 2011 and is a rising senior at the University of Chicago. Navy is focusing his studies on political science and French, and he spent the 2013 – 2014 academic year studying at the Paris Institute of Politics. Upon graduation, he plans to obtain a law degree and pursue a career working for American government.

Kristen Solberg is currently interning in Hoeven’s Bismarck office.

Kristen Solberg grew up in Bismarck, graduated from Bismarck High School in 2013 and is currently beginning her sophomore year at Winona State University. Kristen is a pre-law paralegal major interested in research and the American legal system. She says she is ecstatic about her internship because it allows her to attain a deeper understanding of something she is very passionate about: helping the people through the law.

Mudiaga Kpohraror is currently interning in Hoeven’s Fargo office.

A 2010 graduate of North St. Paul High School, Kpohraror is a senior at North Dakota State University majoring in sociology and political science. Muddi is actively involved on NDSU’s campus through the university’s Greek system and student government.
