Hoeven: USDA Awards More Than $130K to North Dakota State University
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee, as well as the Senate Agriculture Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) has awarded more than $130,000 to North Dakota State University (NDSU) through its Agriculture and Food Research Initiative. The funds will be used to support pest-resistant wheat research at NDSU’s School of Natural Resource Sciences.
“Wheat is an important part of North Dakota’s agricultural industry, and we need to make sure our growers stay at the forefront of innovation,” Hoeven said. “Today’s funds will support wheat research at NDSU that will help to prevent damage from pests and increase yields.”
