Hoeven: USDA Awards $577,700 in Federal Funding to North Dakota, Approves Loan of $564,000 for Sargent County
WASHINGTON — Senator John Hoeven, who serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development program has awarded a total of $577,700 to Kidder, Sargent and Stutsman Counties. It has also approved a loan of $564,000 for Sargent County.
The funds are awarded as follows:
- Kidder County Ambulance Service, Inc. – $44,749 – This Community Facility Grant will be used to purchase a new ambulance
- Kidder County Ambulance Service, Inc. – $30,751 – This Economic Impact Initiative Grant will also go towards purchasing a new ambulance
- Sargent County – $461,000 – This Water and Waste Disposal Grant will be used to update the water treatment plant, purchase new water meters
- Sargent County – $564,000 – This Water and Waste Disposal Loan will also be used for updates to the water treatment plant and to purchase new water meters
- Stutsman County – $41,200 – This Community Facility Grant will be used to purchase a new book mobile for the James River Valley Library System
“The period of growth we’re experiencing across North Dakota means that we have a greater demand for services in our rural communities,” Hoeven said. “We’ve been working hard to support growth in the rural parts of our state, and these USDA funds will help communities work on important projects that will help ensure the continued health and safety of residents.”
