Hoeven: USDA Approves Loan, Grant Totaling $5 Million for Water Infrastructure Improvement

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee and Agriculture Appropriations Subcommittee, today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development has approved a loan of $2,771,000 and a grant of $2,229,000 to remove and replace existing sanitary sewer mains and water mains in the City of New England in Hettinger County. The loan is made available from USDA’s Water and Waste Disposal Loan Program and the grant is made available through USDA’s Water and Waste Disposal Rural Energy for America Program (REAP).

“One of the most important ways we can support development in the rural parts of our state is to invest in infrastructure that will help communities to grow and thrive,” Hoeven said. “Today’s USDA funds will do just that by removing and replacing sanitary sewer and water mains in Hettinger County, which will allow residents to have safe and reliable sanitation.”
