Hoeven: UND Awarded Nearly $170,000 for Cyberinfrastructure Enhancements
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded $168,182 to the University of North Dakota (UND) to support research infrastructure for utilizing large amounts of data, which is typically cost-prohibitive for smaller research groups.
“Researchers need reliable access to large and growing amounts of data to make progress, but sometimes smaller research groups don’t have the funds they need to access this critical information,” Hoeven said. “This NSF funding will make in-house IT infrastructure affordable, which will open up numerous research opportunities for faculty and students, accelerating learning and enhancing everyone’s contribution to the research community.”
