Hoeven Statement on UND Men's Hockey Team Advancement to Frozen Four
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement upon the University of North Dakota (UND) men’s hockey team winning the NCAA Midwest Region championship game and advancing to the NCAA Frozen Four for the 20th time in the program’s history.
“The UND men’s hockey team has continued a remarkable season with a big, exciting win over FSU at the NCAA Midwest Region championship, which now takes the team to the Frozen Four,” said Hoeven. “North Dakota is proud of the continued success of coach Dave Hakstol and his entire team, and we look forward to cheering them on as they compete for their eighth NCAA title.”
UND will face the University of Minnesota on April 10 at the Frozen Four in Philadelphia. To date, UND’s hockey team has won seven NCAA titles and 15 conference titles. The team has competed in the Frozen Four 20 times, advancing now for the sixth time in the past ten years.
