Hoeven Statement on the Anniversary of the September 11 Terrorist Attacks
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement in commemoration of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks:
“While the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11 always weighs heavily on our nation, it is also a reminder of our best qualities. Firefighters, police officers and first responders put their lives on the line to help others. Communities across the country and nations around the world expressed solidarity with the victims and their loved ones.
“We will always remember and honor the lives that were lost on that day, and in the days since, as we have fought against radical extremism and terrorism. We extend our thoughts and prayers to the families and friends who have lost loved ones. We thank our service members, as we always should, for their dedication to protecting our nation and preserving our freedoms. We join together today, united as Americans, to reflect on and pay tribute to their sacrifices.”
