Hoeven Statement On The Anniversary Of 9/11 Terrorist Attacks
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and the Homeland Security Appropriations Committee, today released the following statement in observance of the 17th anniversary of the terrorist attacks committed against the United States on September 11, 2001.
“Seventeen years ago, we watched with horror as terrorists carried out coordinated attacks against our nation. The destruction of those acts of terror shocked us, and we joined in prayer and support for those who lost loved ones. To this day, we honor the memory of those lost on that tragic day. We also continue to show our appreciation for the courageous first responders who displayed true heroism and saved countless lives, as well as for those in our armed forces who went on to serve and for the men and women in uniform who continue to protect our nation in the global war on terrorism.”
