Hoeven Statement on SCOTUS Overturning Efforts to Disqualify Former President Trump From Ballot

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) issued a unanimous decision overturning the State of Colorado’s disqualification of former President Trump from the state’s ballot. Earlier this year, Hoeven joined an amicus brief led by Senator Ted Cruz making the case against Colorado’s decision and urging SCOTUS to reverse it.

“SCOTUS made the right call in recognizing that the State of Colorado and other state-level officials exceeded their authority in removing President Trump from the ballot. Now, the decision goes back to voters, where it belongs,” said Hoeven.
