Hoeven Statement on Release of Farm Bill Framework by Senate Ag Committee Ranking Member Boozman

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement after Senate Agriculture Committee Ranking Member John Boozman (R-Ark.) released a framework for the ongoing farm bill negotiations. As Ranking Member of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee and a senior member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, Hoeven is working to ensure the farm bill makes needed investments in the tools that producers rely on to provide the food, fuel and fiber that America needs. To this end, the framework includes important priorities the senator has been advancing, including strengthening the farm safety net, improving crop insurance affordability, expanding producer access to credit and keeping conservation programs voluntary and farmer-friendly.

“I appreciate Senator Boozman putting forward this framework, which is all about keeping the farm in the farm bill and includes a wide range of priorities we’ve been advancing to invest in the continued success of our producers,” said Senator Hoeven. “Our farmers and ranchers provide the highest-quality, lowest-cost food supply in the world. Given the challenges and rising input costs they face today, it only makes sense to invest in the farm safety net to maintain our nation’s food security now and into the future.”
