Hoeven Statement on President's Supreme Court Nominee

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven released the following statement today after the President nominated Neil Gorsuch to serve as an Associate Justice on the Supreme Court of the United States.

“Judge Gorsuch has a strong record of upholding the law and his rulings show a strict interpretation of the Constitution, like Justice Antonin Scalia. As a judge on the Tenth Circuit for the past decade, he has the experience necessary to serve on our nation’s highest court. In addition, I appreciate his strong record of defending religious freedom. I congratulate Judge Gorsuch on his nomination to the Supreme Court and look forward to meeting with him as the confirmation process gets underway.”
