Hoeven Statement on President's DACA Announcement

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement after President Donald Trump announced that the Administration will end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program in six months. 

“Despite the fact that immigration policy should be legislated by Congress, the Obama administration unilaterally established DACA. Congress needs to work to find a legislative solution that permanently addresses this issue in a fair manner, and at the same time ensure that our border is secure to prevent illegal immigration going forward.”
