Hoeven Statement on Opening of U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today released the following statement after the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem was officially opened:

“The opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem today fulfills a directive issued by President Trump last year and a policy that was passed by Congress with strong bipartisan support in 1995 and again by the Senate last year. By recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, we are making it clear that we stand with our ally Israel.”
