Hoeven Statement on North Dakota's Fisher Industries Being Awarded Contract to Construct Border Wall in Yuma

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven released the following statement after the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers awarded Fisher Sand and Gravel Co. of Dickinson, North Dakota with a contract to construct the border wall in Yuma, Arizona. Fisher Industries will receive nearly $270 million of a $400 million contract.

“Fisher Industries has the right experience to build the wall on the southern border and we’re pleased that the Army Corps of Engineers has selected them to design and build this portion along the southern border in Yuma, Arizona. We need to secure the border and enforce the law, and this work by Fisher will help us to efficiently and effectively build border infrastructure, which along with personnel and technology, is an important part of our national security.”
