Hoeven Statement on North Dakota Leading Nation in Personal Income Growth

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) report released today finding North Dakota has the strongest personal income growth in the country. North Dakota’s average personal income increased by 7.6 percent last year compared to the national growth rate of 2.6 percent. The BEA report is available here. Our state has earned this distinction for six of the past seven years.

“Today’s BEA report serves as further evidence of the tremendous economic strides North Dakota has made the past decade and continues to make now. We have worked hard to develop the right legal, tax and regulatory policies in our state, and these efforts – coupled with the ingenuity and outstanding work ethic of North Dakotans – has driven growth across all sectors of our economy. With our firm emphasis on jobs and a good  business climate, our state can serve as a blueprint for how our country can grow and strengthen our national economy.

“Our state truly is an economic bright spot in the nation, and I remain committed to working with my colleagues in Congress to implement federal policies similar to the ones that have boosted North Dakota’s economy so that all Americans can share in a dynamic economy.”
