Hoeven Statement on Joint Session of Congress with NATO Secretary General

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Defense Appropriations Committee, released the following statement after North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg addressed a joint session of Congress: 

“We appreciate the NATO Secretary General’s remarks to Congress today about the role NATO, under American leadership, has played in helping to promote peace and stability for its member states. Building on this historic success, NATO can continue to deter aggression by Russia and other adversaries, and provide safety and security for our allies going forward. At the same time, each member state needs to contribute its share of military funding to keep NATO strong.”
