Hoeven Statement on His Holiness Pope Francis' Visit to the United States

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement as Pope Francis begins his official visit to the United States. The pope will address a joint session of Congress tomorrow at 11 a.m. CT.

“We are very much looking forward to the pope’s visit,” said Hoeven. “This an historic event, as it is not only Pope Francis’ first visit to our country, but also the first time a pope has spoken before Congress. We look forward to his message tomorrow. Pope Francis is not only the leader of the Catholic Church, but he is also truly an inspirational religious leader for the world.”
