Hoeven Statement on FISA

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven released the following statement after voting against legislation to reauthorize the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

 “We supported additional reforms to the FISA process that would have further ensured the privacy rights of Americans, however these amendments were blocked. For that reason, I did not support this legislation,” said Hoeven. “Going forward we’ll continue working to protect both the security and civil liberties of Americans.”
