Hoeven Statement on Designation of Iran Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a Foreign Terrorist Organization

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today issued the following statement regarding the Administration’s plan to designate Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

“Iran has long been a force of destabilization, violence and terrorism in the region, and this designation will ensure that we hold Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps accountable for its role in promoting and supporting terrorism, not only in the Middle East but around the globe,” said Hoeven. “This designation helps put maximum pressure on Iran as part our efforts to stop terrorist activities and deter its aggressive behavior.”
