Hoeven Statement on Biden Administration Halting Border Wall Construction

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Homeland Security Appropriations Committee, today issued the following statement after the Biden administration halted construction of the border wall.

“We need to secure our nation’s borders and properly enforce our immigration laws. The border wall, in addition to personnel and technology, serves as an important part of that effort and construction should continue. In fact, we provided more than $1.3 billion for wall construction this year to help add to the 452 miles of border wall that were completed during the Trump administration. Border security is vital to national security and Americans want a secure border.”
