Hoeven Statement on Announced Retirement of DMR Director Lynn Helms
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven issued the following statement after North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources Director Lynn Helms announced that he plans to retire on June 30.
“No one knows North Dakota’s energy resources better than Lynn Helms,” said Hoeven. “For more than two decades, Lynn has helped North Dakota make the best use of its abundant resources, while overseeing the implementation of new, innovative technologies. Both as governor and as U.S. Senator, I worked closely with him to advance these important goals and build our state into an energy powerhouse for the nation, and I greatly appreciate his partnership and hard work over the years. While he will be missed, we will maintain our efforts to ensure North Dakota continues in its role as an energy leader. Mikey and I wish him and his family the very best in whatever the future brings.”
