Hoeven Statement in Observance of Veterans Day
BISMARCK, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Defense and Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Committees, today issued the following statement honoring veterans in recognition of Veterans Day.
“Today and every day, we are indebted to our servicemembers and veterans in North Dakota and across this nation, as well as their families, who serve alongside them. We cannot thank enough these great American heroes who have fought to protect our nation,” said Hoeven. “I remain committed to ensuring veterans receive the recognition, benefits and care they’ve earned. God bless our veterans, their families and this great nation.”
As a member of the Senate Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Committee, Hoeven has worked to ensure that veterans receive the care and services they have earned, including:
- Continuing to advocate for making available additional health care options, like long-term care, in local communities across North Dakota to help ensure veterans are better able to have access to the care and resources they need, no matter where they live.
- Passing legislation ensuring that veterans from all eras suffering from conditions due to toxic exposure receive the heath care and benefits they deserve.
- Improving veterans cemeteries to better serve and honor veterans and their families, including the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery and Fargo National Cemetery.
