Hoeven Statement in Observance of Memorial Day, Senator to Attend Ceremony at ND Veterans' Cemetery
BISMARCK, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven released the following statement in honor of Memorial Day. Hoeven recently made remarks on the Senate floor to pay tribute to the many military members, veterans and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Today, Senator Hoeven will speak at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan for the Memorial Day Ceremony.
“Military Appreciation Month culminates in Memorial Day, the date set aside to honor the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation,” said Hoeven. “While we honor their memory on Memorial Day, we remember their loss every day, and extend our gratitude to their loved ones, as well as to those who continue to serve. North Dakota’s rich tradition of military service runs deep, and we will never forget the sacrifices of those who gave their lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms we are so blessed to have today.”
