Hoeven Statement After Voting Against Confirmation of EPA Assistant Administrator
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven, a member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, today issued the following statement after voting against Joseph Goffman to be the Assistant Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA):
“The Biden administration has been taking our nation’s energy policy in the wrong direction, and Joseph Goffman has played a key role in many of the administration’s most burdensome regulations. That includes the Clean Power Plan 2.0 and Mercury and Air Toxic Standards that have targeted our lignite-fired power plants. The policies he is helping to craft are handcuffing our domestic energy sector and raising prices on American consumers. We opposed his confirmation and will continue working to push back on the Green New Deal policies he is helping to advance.”
