Hoeven Requests Meeting with DEA Administrator to Press for Support to Combat Drug Crime in North Dakota
Senator Working to Station Additional Drug Enforcement Agents in State
WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven today requested a meeting with Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Administrator Michele Leonhart to ensure that DEA is providing the necessary support to local and state officials in North Dakota to fight increasing drug crimes. Yesterday, Hoeven called for DEA to station more agents in the state to help support local and state officials in preventing and investigating drug crimes.
“We’ve requested a meeting with DEA Administrator Leonhart, either in North Dakota or Washington, to ensure that she is working with state and local officials to combat drug crimes in our state,” said Hoeven. “We have requested additional DEA agents to help prevent drug crimes and we’re working to ensure that we get additional agents on the ground to help as soon as possible.”
Hoeven is pressing for the increase in DEA agents in North Dakota at the request of local law enforcement officials and the North Dakota Attorney General.
