Hoeven: Reforms to Reduce Debt and Deficit Should be Part of Debt Ceiling Agreement

WASHINGTON – At a press conference today on the Capitol steps, Senator John Hoeven outlined the importance of including reforms to reduce the debt and deficit as part of an agreement to raise the debt ceiling. The senator highlighted the House-passed bill that reduces spending while raising the debt ceiling, and called on the President to support spending reforms.

“The House passed legislation that raises the debt ceiling while putting in place the kinds of reforms we need to reduce the debt and deficit,” said Hoeven. “We need to get our debt and deficit under control, and spending reforms should be part of an agreement to raise the debt ceiling.”
