Hoeven Receives North Dakota Dental Association Award

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Senator John Hoeven today received the President’s Award from the North Dakota Dental Association at the organizations’ Annual Session. The award recognizes Hoeven’s commitment to improving oral health care for North Dakotans during his tenure as governor, including his efforts to increase provider reimbursements through the dental Medicaid program. This program made oral health care more accessible for low-income North Dakotans.

“I’m honored to receive this award from such a well-regarded organization. I have a deep respect for the work our dental professionals do and their commitment to serving North Dakotans and meeting their needs, especially in rural areas,” Hoeven said. “This award recognizes that we’re on the right track in North Dakota, thanks in large measure to an enlightened professional community like the Dental Association. Oral health is an important part of overall heath, and we’ve proud of our work to increase North Dakotans’ access to dental care. However, more work is needed to ensure access to our citizens in all parts of the state.”
